Best theme, Best set up, Best support for free!!!

This is a fantastic theme! It affords new developers easy setup and configuration through theme settings, and the recommended plugin addons are great for users who want a little extra help designing their project pages. I’ve tested about 15 wp themes in the past two years while mocking up an almost “no-budget” humanities project, and Sydney is by far the smartest, cleanest, and most straightforward theme of these.

Their support staff is 5star as well! I made some very rookie mistakes in my development, but they responded by educating me rather than dismissing my inquiry or giving the WP version of “turn off and turn back on again” fix.

It is a great website design. Looks very professional and you could basically use high resolution full screen photos which is the icing on the cake. I love the sticky menu feature too. Thanks a lot Mr. Creator. You ROCK !!!

I am shocked. I can’t believe I can get such great results. This is the first time I’ve ever been able to remotely approach the complete look that attracted me to a theme. 5 stars for that feat.

Together with the plugins, downloads, and quick instruction videos, you have a powerful toolkit to create a clean modem look. It’s not necessarily minimalist, there are many options and features. Somehow with all these elements available the theme maintains a polished, professional, uncluttered, info packed, experience.

My use is a bit unique. This theme is a huge usability booster:

I’m not a professional. I’m a volunteer English teacher. I added computer/web to the class on my own. Created a MultiSite network for the class. My use is odd, but so far well suited for the theme. My class is of adults, no computer experience, not English or web literate – site nav is daunting for them to use and me to create…just more words across the screen, those 3 horizontal lines in the corner mean “menu” for us, for newbies those are decorations. The term “menu” is meaningless. So I need to present pathways to content from the home page, until such users figure it out. They have phones, not computers – I want them to access my site outside of class to continue with activities and explore on their own. The mobile version of this theme renders fantastically! The home page, the entire site, remains clean, visually familiar, and elements don’t disappear into hidden icon driven margins. That is all very huge.

Miracle!
Best of all, my site looks totally cool – even if you aren’t a newbie. Nothing looks dumbed down and basic. It looks slick, visually interesting, and polished. English language material does not lend itself to stimulating visuals. Adding some decor had been a brutal and wildly disappointing chore. Looked either childish, or like nonsense and public domain crap.

I’m still in the beginnings – but have managed to make major changes in short time. I’m so jazzed!

sydney is a beautiful, clean, professional and versatile theme. wordpress is still new to me (only a couple sites under my belt) so the fact that the forums are very well-monitored by they developers and they are super responsive is so incredible. thank you so much for your amazing work and help!

Just a great theme: clean code, easy to personalize, I love it!

Das Theme Sydney war eine Empfehlung der Fachzeitschrift t3n. Im Ergebnis hat t3n nicht zu viel versprochen.

Man bekommt kostenlos ein leistungsstarkes Theme mit zahlreichen Möglichkeiten zur Individualisierung.

So kann man beispielsweise ohne tiefergehende Kenntnisse einen Vollbild-Slider einrichten, der bei Bedarf auf bis zu fünf Bilder ergänzt werden kann. Auch können zahlreiche Fonts (Schriftarten) hinterlegt werden.

Für die Gestaltung der einzelnen Seiten wird ein Page-Builder-Plugin geliefert. Dieser Umstand macht es auch Einsteigern leicht, ansehnliche Ergebnisse zu erzeugen.

Nun sollte man denken, dass bei einem kostenlosen Theme Abstriche in Puncto Support gemacht werden müssen – weit gefehlt! Der Support ist beispiellos und Vorbild für zahlreiche kostenpflichtige Lösungen.

Jeder, der ohne große Investition und Fachkenntnis den Einstieg in WordPress wagen will, sollte einen Blick auf dieses Theme werfen.
