Alhena Lite

This theme offers more color combination options than I’ve ever seen a theme provide–free or premium. Not all of them are easy on the eyes, but they DO spoil you for choice. It also supports three layouts (right sidebar, left sidebar, and full width/no sidebar). The design is pleasant, although some might find the text a little hard to read. (I tested this theme with dummy WP Test content.) The background is textured, which made for a refreshing break from the stark flat design minimalism that is in vogue these days.

However, the version of the theme available for download in the Repository does not appear to have any support for the kind of layout shown in the screenshot. (If I’m mistaken and the free version does support the masonry style as shown in the screenshot, I would love to be corrected.) I’m not sure what the Theme review team’s policy on screenshots is, but it is misleading and a waste of everyone’s time to find this out only after installing, especially when there are other equivalent or superior and genuinely masonry-layout themes also available in the repo.

In the absence of such a layout–which IS available in the Pro version, and is beautiful, so if you like the look then you may want to consider buying that–this version is a middling sort of theme, mostly good but with nothing standing out in particular to recommend it above others. However, if the designers consider improving the typography (and going with a more representative screenshot) this could be a lovely theme worthy of being featured.
