NO FREE THEME HERE! By Celestial Petals, 2016-06-04 via wordpress.org

NO FREE THEME HERE! LIES. They are using the WordPress.org theme directory to showcase their PRO THEME. Once you install the lite version there is no way to make it look anything like the screenshot!
The documentation is only direction for the pro theme. It tells you to upload the xml file which is not included in the free version. You cannot get this theme to look like the screenshot UNLESS YOU BUY THE PRO VERSION.

<strong>Files structure</strong> for the PRO THEME! The template package you have downloaded consists of several folders. Let's see what each folder contains: documentation - contains documentation files. documentation.html - the main documentation file. You are right here :) screenshots - contains template screenshots. Not for production. theme - contains WordPress theme files. theme####.zip - this folder content all the necessary files for the theme. sample_data - contains files that can make your WordPress website look like our live demo. sample_data.xml - contains all template sample data (posts, pages, categories, etc.). various images and other media files manuall_install - contains files that can make your WordPress website look like our live demo. uploads - contains theme images. theme#####.sql - database backup file (contains theme content). license.txt - contains license details. readme.txt - contain information about theme images path and font use and usage scritps.

I posted my support question about this and got the answer:
“This is a free theme but authors can’t help it that the generic theme demo here doesn’t show off the theme’s capabilities. Most themes do not look favorable with the generic demo data.

Have you considered viewing the theme documentation?

http://flythemesdemo.net/documentation/relief-doc/

That may help you configure your installation. Yes, that link also includes “pro” documentation but it’s their site and that’s fine. “

I installed this theme and it’s not just the demo. You cannot configure the lite theme to look like the screen shot at all!

I don’t want to buy from a theme company that wants to trick me into something right-out-of-the-box.

I have been using WP for over 7yrs. I have over 15 domains that I run, that are mine alone. I have paid for countless PRO themes, and I have coded my own.

IS THIS EVEN ETHICAL? IS IT AGAINST WORDPRESS TERMS OF USE?

To my understanding wordpress doesn’t allow for using the theme repository for this kind of selling tunnel. Are things changing?

  • Nice theme but By oakol, 2016-05-25 via wordpress.org

The theme looks to be a really nice theme but the free version doesn’t offer enough for us to even give it a try before we purchased the pro version.
