Decode

Beware of version 3.14.1, as the new management seeks to turn Decode into a cash-cow! Was for sure a 5-star theme that far — what a pity.

If you are looking for a theme that’s mobile-friendly, fast, has clean code and looks pure and simple, go for decode! I have been very happy with it for several years now.

Beautifully designed, easy to use, super-configurable, straight-forward.

Thanks to Scott, ‘decode’ is the theme I need and I recommend using it. The best part of this theme: simply, it has all what I need. However, I just learned recently that with the latest update of the theme (Version: 3.0.8), there are some bugs and hopefully, we shall see a fix

This is a great theme and easy to work with, for the most part. But beware when you update! The author likes to mess around with the stylesheet, changing values and sometimes even class/id names! This can really mess up your site and cause you a lot of extra time trying to track down what was changed and what you need to do to get your site back to looking the way it should.
It happened once again with the latest update – my ul lists got a huge indent and my eight letter heading became so huge only three letters fit in a row, so it took up the entire page, on three lines!
After about an hour of searching through the densely packed style.css (he doesn’t know how to work the ENTER key apparently

I needed a simple theme to link to various sites, including social media, and to display my CV. This is perfect.

Was referred to this theme by a friend to test it out on a client project. Set it up offline, made it live and we were about to hand over the keys to the client until we discovered some issues with the theme… and how it is advertised (which is really why I gave it 1 star.)

Mobile first? I pray to God you guys didn’t actually design this first on mobile. On a couple of devices it was very laggy, would freeze, be choppy, or glitchy, and one simply didn’t work at all. Test first and *FIX the load times!*

Now your thinking “duh, it’s your internet!” It was tested on high speed wifi, as well as 4g, 3g, etc.

I am just really mad I wasted so much time. I have now switched to a different theme for the project. Please test the themes via multiple devices, and if your going to advertise “mobile first,” design it on mobile devices first, if you did not.

Using this theme for my wife’s artist website. Its Simple, elegant and does what’s needed (customize) without any issues. I don’t normally post reviews but this one deserves one. My wife loved the layout and looks on its first impression itself.

Great template, lots of space…so it makes little sense why the header image is so tiny. looks kind of ridiculous…i don’t mind the 300px limit on height, but can it at least have a full width image?
