  • Best default theme thus far By Brian Harris, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

When I first saw this theme at its introduction post I had reservations about the sidebar – that was at version 0.1.

A lot of work has gone in to making it better now the sidebar issue is just secondary and can be remedied easily with a child theme.

Talking about child themes, already created one and its going live very soon – so watch out for that

  • Love it By tomkor2112, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

    So far-so good!

  • A near perfect personal playground. By Arthur Broeders, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org
  • Best WordPress default theme ever! By thescarletfire, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

This is seriously an awesome theme! Great starting off point. I love it! I did notice one thing though, which is a concern. When creating a child theme, something is seriously wrong with the footer.

JS function arranges footer widgets vertically. Calling this is actually causing my footer in child theme to not float properly.

It does not allow the four evenly spaced widgets in the child theme’s footer. You’ll see that when you go to add the fourth widget, it’ll go underneath the other three and look way off.

I’ve added no custom css or modified the child theme in any way, just a blank child theme of twentythirteen. So something is off in the JS somewhere

Could someone please take a peek at that?

  • Nice work By BriniA, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

  • Looks cool and hip By sdpate48, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

Some people have already figured out the sidebar is gone. It’s been gone on mobile devices for ages but not it’s gone. RIP.

The sidebar used to be a source of ad revenue but has been declining since most people don’t click on mobile ads. C’est la vie.

Other than that, I love the new typographic and see a great business for people who can make/sell theme mods. I mean if 3 million people set up their blog with one of the three basis theme header images – yecch! I want to be unique not the same…so something different, something creative has to be done here.

  • Great!! By Tusker-Machine, 2013-08-25 via wordpress.org

Very good starting point for the child themes. Really loved it.
