Version 2.0's Visual Composer is pointless as not even the demo content import the Newave shortcodes properly. There is no adequate shortcode guide for the elements on the Main Page or the shortcodes in general, and attempting to edit them almost always breaks them in Visual Composer. This theme may have actually been easier to edit without Visual Composer as it is completely shortcode-based. The shortcodes generated from actually using shortcode elements in Visual Composer also differ substantially from the demos. Horrible theme in practice, avoid.

Well, let's make some things abundantly clear: every theme has shortcodes and your statement 'entirely based on shortcodes' has absolutely no sense. A shortcode can be mapped to a Visual Composer element, so that you can insert it via Visual Composer editor, should you wish to do so.

The other demos are created before, so without Visual Composer.
I think your unfair rating comes for your lack of understanding of how shortcodes work. And you didn't bother to ask. Anyway, if you are looking for a refund feel free to send a request.
