At first I thought the 12 second load time was server side but since reverting back to the default twentysixteen theme, I have realised that WP Layers is in fact the culprit for the 12 second load time. Once you get in the site and cache has been stored on the browser everything runs smoothly but I am afraid many people will turn away from my site due to the 12 second wait.
