GeneratePress

I chose this theme for its clean design and responsiveness after I went through a shortlist of 12 other free themes. I was impressed by the tidiness of the code and the number of options available.

I did start to customise the theme using a custom CSS plugin, and a child theme which hooked into the parent in different places, but after I discovered the add-ons I purchased them to do the job for me. The theme stands up without the addons, and can be customised without them, but the addons make this into something you don’t need to be a developer to do.

GP is awesome! I don’t know how I missed it all these days. With the Plugins pack, I could customize everything I wanted to, via Customizer interface. I didn’t have to touch the PHP file at all. Above all the developer Thomas Usborne is simply awesome, extremely knowledgeable and he makes everything look easy!

I have used this theme as a parent theme for several sites and I love how light and nimble it is. Loads fast and it is not bloated with too many options. But the ones that are there, like the layout options, are fantastic. It’s easy to add css in the child theme to create custom colors and such. The advanced options of using hooks are genius.

The GeneratePress template if very adaptable for either blog or non-blog sites. The one on one customer support is timely, friendly and unmatched from my experience. Although the free template is great the premium version offers great options that make it well worth it.

GeneratePress is clean, very customizable and works flawlessly on mobile. I’ve worked on dozens of themes and GeneratePress is at the top. The Premium Add-On Bundle is a no-brainer, takes an already A+ theme to another level. Amazing work Tom, thank you.

Very nice theme, allows for a lot of user customization, either simple via customizer or more complex via hooks.

You can build virtually any site with this theme.

Support is also excellent, questions are usually answered well within a day.

I decided to create a website to blog about photography and to use WP.
Being new to WP but having developed sites using Dreamweaver and templates I knew that deciding which theme to use was the most important starting point.
I wanted something clean and uncluttered and needed good support and reviews. Generate press looked right and had only 5* reviews.
I feel I have made an excellent choice and support is absolutely first class.
After some testing I purchased the add-on pack to customise the look and feel. GeneratePress is a great framework that doesn’t try to do everything so you have a choice of plugins and widgets to provide things like galleries/albums/social media etc. (plus jetpack). This was important to me. I tested several plugins of various types before I selected the ones that worked the way I wanted.

GeneratePress is the ultimate model of how a theme and plugins should be offered. The ongoing development adds more to an already great theme, and the support is the best I have ever come across — by far. Tom responds almost instantaneously to every little issue and keeps the exchange going until everything is resolved. It’s no surprise that 99.9% of reviews are 5-star!

wow, i never had a better support from any theme developer yet! thomas (theme developer) is ready to answer all of my questions and generate a custom code to do some theme fixing if i need to. generatepress is the best theme i have ever used (and i’ve used many). it’s light, fast, flexible and has a lot of power functionalities. great, great, great work man! keep it going! i already made a donation to support such a fantastic guy.

This theme is awesome, so many ways to make it your own. Tom is always there to help if you have a question, and his response is super quick, like his theme! The add-ons are amazingly powerful and let you do code guru things with mere clicks. Completely redesigned my site in a few days with GP Premium. I’m shocked at how easy it was with all of these features. Tip of the hat to Tom for making this thing and staying on top of it all the way he does. Keep up the good work!

Love this theme – got a nice deal on all the premium plugins at once – the theme itself doesn’t seem to have a paid version. But the plugins created such awesomeness that I quickly switched over around 7 of my websites to it. The support is great – best I have found for a theme – responses within a day with clear answers. Can’t recommend this theme highly enough!
