GeneratePress

I needed a new ‘base’ theme to use for various projects, that would give me a lot of flexibility, to replace my old theme which is sadly no longer supported.

I didn’t want something that was loaded with junk, and it needed to have the ability to override on quite a deep level from within a child theme. I found GeneratePress, gave it a test-ride and was really impressed with what was available for free – I managed to get more done in a couple of hours than I’ve managed previously in over a day with expensive commercial templates.

The support forum is excellent, with quick and comprehensive answers.

I only needed one of the plugins (a bargain at $5), but bought the whole add-on pack as a way of saying thank you for the HOURS it’s saved me.

Tom, I would like to ask you about your theme Forefront. I use it and I like it very much but I have one problem, could you tell me how can I make h1 on the homepage? I want to make h1 but there are no possibility to do it. Help me please.

Wow, that was really impressive. I sent a support ticket through contact form on GP’s website and in almost one hour Thomas had already gave me exactly what I needed.

Regarding the Generate Theme, the only thing I have to say is that I am using it on my sites since last year and I never had any problem with that.
It is a great theme with great Add-ons.

I can honestly say that the GeneratePress Theme and the GP-Premium plugin made it super easy for me get my website and blog up and running. I couldn’t be more pleased. I really love this theme.
Lots of customisation options even with no programming experience.
And if you wish to dig a little deeper, you will find it is very well documented with a lot of hooks and filters if you need to extend it.

Above all Tom has great support and I got my question answered within about an hour

Having used dozens of themes for my amateur blogs over the years, this is the first time I’ve been blown away. This theme is so easy to use out of the box, it’s so flexible and it loads fast too. The support at the theme’s website is also first class.

P.S. this is my first review, having never been impressed like this before.

This theme is like one you’d PAY FOR. Mean that. Check it out. GP Has all the stuff. 1, 2, 3, cols, custom hearder/footer, several very nice child themes. Small, under a meg, responsive, W3C Validated, Schema.org microdata, seo friendly, cross browser (inc damn IE8+), WooCommerce, BuddyPress, and about 10 languages, 100% translatable. 8 widget areas, 5 navigation positions, 5 sidebar layouts, etc etc.

He makes his $ by selling his Plugins, which are nice and inexpensive. Charges way to low a price, so get em now.

Plus this guy (Tom) answers question fast. Not just for me and my buy recently, but old customers on the forum attesting to that fact.

You cant go wrong with GeneratePress theme and plugins.

I love this them. It’s simplicity allows me to express myself through CSS since it is so well organized. It is nice and lightweight. I love it’s lack of “gimmicks.” The tech support is the best you can find. I was ready to give up on WordPress but this theme has brought me back. I feel like I am working with something stable for a change.

Looks very clean and the coding is clear

GeneratePress (GP) is the most versatile theme I have ever worked with. But that is not the most impressive aspect of GP. Tom, lead developer of Generate Press, is more responsive that the fastest responsive theme available.

My biggest frustration with theme developers is their lack of excellent customer service. Tom is on top of all his communications. He follows up with constructive feedback.

Five star customer service. I have already created two websites using this theme and it’s thoroughly flexible for front-end developers. Well-documented and supported. I would definitely recommend getting the Premium plugin, it speeds up development time by 60%. Very rich features that makes it easy to add hooks, sections, etc.

Can’t wait to see how GP blossoms overtime.

I don’t know Tom personally but my guess is that he is a perfectionist. He is open to improving the theme as long as it benefits everyone.
