As others have said, GeneratePress is a great theme. It’s flexible, easy to use and the theme code is up-to-date on current WP standards, including moving all theme options to the Customizer. The code structure is clean, well-organized and easy to follow. The developer has also provided numerous hooks and filters which makes it easy to customize many areas of the theme without having to modify theme files. One often-asked question is, “Do I need the Add-ons to do customizations?” Technically speaking, no, you don’t. You could accomplish the same customizations by manually creating functions and adding a lot of CSS. However, the Add-ons, for a nominal one-time cost, will save you a significant amount of time and manual coding effort. Highly recommended.

The other aspect of this theme that stands out is the support. Of particular note is that most of the support comes directly from the theme developer. And not only on this forum, but also in a forum on the theme website. The detail and timeliness of the support is something rarely seen these days, especially in support of a free theme. Impressive.

One last note. Of the top 12 “Popular” themes in the wp.org repository, this is the only one where the developer personally acknowledges and recognizes every user review.

This is the best theme if you are a beginner. I’ve tried a few and GeneratePress beats the lot of ’em. The support is top class. The documentation on the website is great. I upgraded to Premium immediately and thoroughly recommend doing this at what is a very reasonable price. It’s as if Tom has really carefully thought through what people find difficult on WordPress and written this theme to help them. I imagine that if you are a developer this theme is even more awesome.

I like the theme because it’s easy to customize. For almost all basic customizations there are some options. And you have some hooks to insert custom code.
After I purchased some addons I had some installation issues. After contacting Tom in support forum I got them fixed really fast – to be precise: he fixed it for me. The only thing I’m issing up to now is a good CSS documentation. But that’s not really a bummer… So 5 stars and good luck!

I’ve reviewed this once before but after having used this consistently now for the last 2 months on what is my 5th client build, including my own website, I can honestly say I am taken back that one guy has managed to build what I believe to be THE best WordPress Framework on the market to date.

Tom gives a personalised support to everyone, this guy literally works around the clock on his creation, it is nothing like I have ever seen before. His support is second to none, as is knowledge of WordPress.

The premium add-on’s for $30 is an utter steal and it just keeps on growing. I’ve been through two new releases and countless updates, each time given me even more value for money, but it’s not even about the money, I believe we are getting something so amazing because it is coming from a passionate mind state, not a total business mind state.

Tom – you have created a framework that IS lightweight, bloat free, flexible, with some great features that allow even novices to get their sites looking great. As a professional myself, I can say without a doubt this is the best framework I have ever used. Well done.

Not only is it a great theme, but the direct support on the forums is second to none and really quick in responding. Our blog at [Link redacted] had to be customised to match the existing site and it’s a close as it can be. Very impressed.

It’s both easy to start working with and lets you do some more advanced customisation once you catch the groove. I had read the excellent reviews. I tried it, bought the Pro version and to put it simply: it’s all true, and better.

The theme is lightweight, is powerful but not bloated, elegant, super-customizable,…

User support is nothing short of mythical – the man is fast, kind, has a solution for everything and… actually reads what you write in your posts and support requests. This was really important to me as it was my first time building a site and his help was critical. Thank you Tom!
